GM Canada was today honoured by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), which named the Chevrolet Silverado as its 2008 Truck of the Year.The recognition results from recent back-to-back driving evaluations of 59 new vehicles at the annual AJAC Test Fest evaluation - the foundation of the Canadian Car of the Year Awards (CCOTY) program.Over 70 of Canada’s top automotive journalists judged this year’s competition, which aims to provide consumers with sound, comparative information on new vehicles.“We truly appreciate this vote of confidence from such a large body of Canada’s automotive experts,” said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice president, sales service and marketing.

The HHR SS combines all of the style and capability of the popular HHR family with uncompromising performance, including a turbocharged and intercooled engine that produces 260 horsepower (194 kW), unique exterior styling and an SS-specific interior. The vehicle was developed by GM Performance Division (GMPD), with a team of engineers and designers dedicated to crafting nothing but high-performance vehicles.

The Chevrolet Camaro concept was the celebrated star of the American 2006 auto show season. Chevrolet already has announced production plans for the Camaro, which will go on sale in the US in 2009. A production convertible model will be added later that year. Additional design details include:
- Tonneau cover over the folded top
- “Halo” headlamps
- LED taillamps
- Rear spoiler with LED-lit CHMSL
- Racing-inspired fuel filler door
- Front-inlet hood scoop, inspired by the Corvette Z06
- Heritage-inspired rear fender “gills”

Saturn announced the addition of the all-new 2008 Astra to its lineup, bringing a decidedly European flavor to the North American compact car market. It is packed with a wide range of standard equipment and safety features, and delivers sporty performance with very good fuel economy.The Saturn Astra will be offered in three-door and five-door models, each underpinned by a taught, European-bred suspension that delivers a sharp, responsive driving experience. The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse delivers a robust and satisfying combination of power, efficiency, ride and safety.
