When they’re thinking about buying a hybrid vehicle, people sometimes worry about stuff that’s just silly. Sometimes, though they’re absolutely right to be concerned.
In a survey done in cooperation with Harris Interactive, Kelly Blue Book’s Web site. KBB.com, asked car shoppers who were considering a hybrid and what worried them about the vehicles.

GM’s two-mode hybrid powertrain will first appear in full-size sport utilities. The 2008 hybrid Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon started production this spring and will soon start showing up in select dealer showrooms. I say select because not every dealer that wants one will be able to get one. The demand for this new hybrid vehicle is already high and the initial production is limited to only some dealers. The world’s largest automaker now has more hybrids in its lineups or on the way than Toyota does, with the latest two having been introduced at auto shows earlier this month.
These newest ones are the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup, unveiled in Los Angeles, and the Cadillac Escalade full-size sport utility vehicle, shown first in Miami, then in Los Angeles.
Equipped with GM’s new two-mode hybrid system, which is similar to the setup used by Toyota, these two new hybrids go on sale next year. The Escalade will arrive in the summer, and the Silverado in late fall.
